Crown

A crown is an artificial restoration that fits over the remaining part of a prepared tooth, making it strong and giving it the shape of a natural tooth. A crown is sometimes known as a ‘cap'. Crowns are an ideal way to restore teeth that have been broken, or have weakened by decay or a very large filling.

Bridges

After extraction of a tooth, space forms between the teeth. The space of missing tooth can be filled by inserting the bridge, which gets support from teeth on both sides and replaces the space with a natural looking artificial tooth. Once bridge is cemented, it is not removable.

Veneers

A veneer is a thin layer of porcelain made to fit over the front surface of a tooth, like a false fingernail fits over a nail. Veneers can improve the colour, shape and position of your teeth. Sometimes a natural colour ‘composite' material is used instead of porcelain. Veneers make teeth look natural and healthy.

Whitening

Tooth Whitening lightens teeth and helps to remove stains and discoloration. Whitening is among the most popular cosmetic dental procedures because it can greatly improve how your teeth look. Ask about whitening to our staff at Family Dentistry @ Picton.

White Fillings

A filling is a way to restore a tooth damaged by decay back to its normal function and shape. To treat small cavities, the decayed portion of the tooth will be removed and then the area on the tooth will be filled with white filling which looks just like the natural tooth. Fillings are also used to repair cracked or broken teeth and teeth that have been worn down from misuse. White fillings are more esthetic and a great alternative to traditional metal (amalgam) fillings.

Root Canal Treatment

Root canal treatment is done when decay will likely damage or has already killed a tooth. During a root canal treatment, the dental pulp is removed from the center of tooth and the space is filled by special type of filling material. This process prevents development of painful infection in the tooth and also it can relieve toothache, stop infection, and promote healing. At Family Dentistry @ Picton, we use latest technology to make this treatment quick and easy.

Dental Implant

Dental implants are quickly becoming the number one choice for tooth replacement. Not only does it replace the missing tooth, but it restores function, preserves bone, and it gives a natural look. Please call our office to see if you could be a candidate for an implant, and restore your natural smile.

Denture Stabilization

Sometimes complete denture gets very loose and reduces chewing efficiency as well. By placing few implants on appropriate location, we can make denture more retentive and functional. At Family Dentistry @ Picton we offer Implant supported Dentures.
